7 September 1991

On this day in 1991 St Johnstone recorded a very rare victory at Pittodrie over Aberdeen.

Goals from Ian Redford and Harry Curran gave Saints a 2 – 1 win in front of 12,000 spectators.

Whilst on the face of it only a modest victory, it was significant in that prior to this success the most recent win there had been in 1974, and it was only the 5th success at Pittodrie in 48 League and Cup matches stretching  back to 1924.

Saints team that day was: – Lindsay Hamilton, Mark Treanor, Sergei Baltacha, Gary McGinnis, John Inglis, John Davies, Steve Maskrey, Tommy Turner, Paul Wright, Ian Redford, Harry Curran.

Subs were Doug Barron and Kenny Ward.
